WRI Announces Funded Proposals for Fiscal Year 2020

Utah’s Watershed Restoration Initiative (WRI) and it’s partners announced funding decisions for the upcoming fiscal year 2020 project implementation season.  121 of the 178 project proposals submitted to WRI for implementation between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020 were either fully or partially funded this week.  In addition 25 of the 48 project proposals requesting WRI-Water Development dollars were also funded for FY 2020.  This year’s list of funded projects is set to improve another 173,000 acres of priority watersheds in Utah.  Funding for these projects totaled over $37 million dollars in WRI and partner funding as well as another $4 million of in-kind support.  Major funding partners include:

Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Watershed Restoration Initiative, Sportsman for Fish and Wildlife, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Mule Deer Foundation, Utah Bowman’s Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, Safari Club International, State of Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration.
