WRI Announces Funded Proposals for Fiscal Year 2021

Utah’s Watershed Restoration Initiative (WRI) and its partners announced funding decisions for the upcoming fiscal year 2021 project implementation season.  101 of the 147 project proposals submitted to WRI for implementation between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021 were either fully or partially funded this week.  This year’s list of funded projects is set to improve another 185,000 acres of priority watersheds in Utah.  Funding for these projects totaled over $34 million dollars in WRI and partner funding as well as another $7 million of in-kind support.  Major funding partners include:

Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Watershed Restoration Initiative, Sportsman for Fish and Wildlife, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Mule Deer Foundation, Utah Bowman’s Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, Safari Club International, State of Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration.
